About This Wiki
The Digital Images Collections Wiki is a resource of Free- and Fair-Use digital image collections that are available for anyone to use for personal or educational purposes. The main goals of the project are to provide an image gathering tool for the art history students and faculty of
and to supplement the growing visual resources collection of that institution. The wiki was created by Hollin Elizabeth Pagos (MLS graduate, Simmons College) during a summer 2007 internship in the
department of Wellesley College. The project was created in wiki format with the hope that users will continue to add their own bookmarked fair-use galleries and the resource will continue to grow beyond the input of its creator.
Image Quality And Size
Please keep in mind that this wiki is not hosting any images itself. All links are to images from other websites. Therefore, the size and quality will differ from site to site and also across areas of focus.
The purpose of this project was to collect image galleries that can be used freely for non-profit educational purposes. Some of the websites included, however, have certain restrictions and user requests, such as preferred citing or number of images used. It is the user's responsibility to make sure image use conforms to the policies of the specific gallery.
